After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design, Kate Steiger worked as a textile designer in New York City for a few years before moving to Northern Virginia. She went on to have over twenty one-person shows of her paintings in the Washington, DC area. Kate exhibited in galleries and group shows around the country, and participated in the State Department’s Art in Embassy Program.
In 2007, Steiger relocated to Edmonds, Washington and continued to refine her “buried collage” technique. In their review of a gallery exhibit, the Seattle Times described Kate’s work as a “beautiful amalgamation of memory and imagination.” Steiger’s paintings are in numerous corporate and private collections.
Kate Steiger currently lives in White Plains, New York. In addition to painting, she has expanded her technique to include three dimensional vessels and sculptural pieces.
