Aesthetics has been a thread throughout my life, beginning with my first memory at the age of four—a vivid red smear of nail polish on a white cotton bonnet. A crimson red wall I painted eight years ago became a trademark for the most expressive living space I have ever inhabited.

I believe we are hardwired to respond to beauty. Whether it is by color, symmetry, balance, or more complex aesthetic values, we are moved by our surroundings. As an artist, I feel compelled to explore and impart my reactions to beauty in personally meaningful ways.

Experimenting with mediums for artistic expression has been my form of creative soul searching. Drawing, painting, design, music, and writing remain tools in my vocabulary and sources of inspiration. And yet, just as a poet is most at ease in her native tongue, I have found authenticity and joy through photography.

Finding art in plain sight is both exhilarating and challenging. For me, macro photography is a fascinating playground that brings wonder to the most ordinary things. It has taught me to see so much I used to overlook, to find treasures in my backyard. If I can capture the richness of the mundane, take life's candid shots and share them with others, then it has been a good day indeed.
