RICHARD GETLER is a photographer based in Port Chester, NY and in Northampton, MA. His diverse photographic interests include fine art photography, event photography, street photography, portraiture and sports photography. Richard drew early inspiration and a love for photography from Edward Weston, Diane Arbus, Cartier-Bresson, Walker Evans, Ansel Adams. He later studied with master photographer Minor White at MIT, learning about the zone system of photo exposure and White’s sophisticated understanding of pure form. Richard’s photos have appeared in The New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Westchester Magazine and a variety of publications. His work has been exhibited widely and has won awards in a long series of juried shows. His photographs hang in private collections and in professional offices and businesses. Richard is on the board of directors of the Westchester Professional Photographers Association (www.westchesterppa.org) and is past president of the Color Camera Club of Westchester (www.colorcameraclub.com). Sharing his personal view of the world through his photography has been a continual source of joy and inspiration.
