Blue Door Art Center Artist Members you are invited to paint a fish shaped windsock that may be chosen to be displayed flying on the lamp posts on the Esplanade in Yonkers!
The fish windsocks are inspired by the mighty sturgeon that swim along our majestic Hudson River. They are in the tradition of Koinobori, a Japanese carp windsock, which symbolizes strength and good health. This project is sponsored by NYSCA and is in cooperation with the City of Yonkers.
We will provide all of the materials, just be prepared to paint fish and have fun. The paint is permanent, so wear old clothing. This project is for adults. The windsock will stay at the gallery as part of this project.
Join us for a Children's Art Workshop with artist Mara Gross. Children with special needs always welcome. No cost, masks not required. Please stay with your child, we have a seating area for parents or join in the fun.
