This Saturday we will be making a decorative 3-D picture using a technique called paper quilling with artist Vicky Youngman on Zoom. Quilling involves rolling strips of paper tightly around a long thin object such as a tooth pick or thin paint brush handle. Hundreds of years ago people used bird feathers, or quills, to roll the paper strips around. This is where the name quilling, came from. Once rolled, the paper coils or circles can be used to make all sorts of things, like pumpkins, leaves, jack o lanterns, animals, words, or even your own creatures. The possibilities are endless!
