Our first workshop of the series will simply be an introduction to seeds, sprouting seeds, planting a seedling.
We will go through the anatomy of the seedling and draw them, and then actually plants seeds in little individual trays that each participant takes home, so the progress can be documented with an Art Journal of sketches of the seedling through its growth stages.
We welcome back Sara Smith Sell, of Groundworks Hudson Valley, to Blue Door, to help guide us through the step by step connection with the plants, gardening, and food production. These are skills that Children of all ages can become familiar with and expand upon. We will emphasize the Artistic perspective of the natural process and how we can work with the land to perpetuate a colorful garden of growing things.
Join us for the first part of this four part series that will take place once a month from May-August!
Suggested donation is $5 to cover in Gallery Supplies and light refreshments available.
All are encouraged to purchase any basic notebook or sketchbook for Art Journal, small bound of recycled paper will be provided for use to all those interested.
We look forward to seeing you!
