The 100 Words Of Wisdom Exhibit is the brainchild of artists Evan Bishop and Katori Walker. Together with fellow artists Lance Johnson and Barry Mason, they embarked on a journey that captured the wisdom of over 100 senior citizens from all walks of life. This community-based art project involved 141 participants whose ages range from 60 to 102. They reside in Yonkers as well as 12 other municipalities in Westchester County, all five boroughs in New York City, New Jersey and Massachusetts. They are immigrants, politicians, musicians, artists, poets, authors, healthcare providers, educators, civil servants and business professionals. With all of these differences, the common denominator is their willingness to share their wisdom with the youth of today.
The exhibit will be displayed for the first time at the Blue Door Art Center from October 26th thru November 4th.
