MAKE W.A.A.V.E.S Summer 2023 focus will be on:
The Hudson River as Muse. Ekphrastic workshops will focus on the Hudson River School of Painters,art, text and poetry about this wondrous estuary that hugs our Yonkers shore.
The Hudson River as Educator will focus on issues threatening the safety and cleanliness and how to use and be mindful of this gift of water that is available to us.
Being in community with the river, using the power of water to relax, watch the fisherman fly lines into the glittering waters, be mindful of care of our river- all this community involvement produces more involved citizens. These writing workshops will share texts, poetry, poetry forms, art as writing prompts and foster discussion.
Emerging and Seasoned writers/artists (12-85 +) 15$ per session. Scholarships Always Available.
Open to all experience levels. Space is limited.
