ARTSPEAK /FROM PAGE TO PERFORMANCE
Winter/Spring 2024
Co-hosts. Katori Walker and Andrea Wolper
As I quote my Hastings plumber, Tom Paretti , “ If it aint broke, don’t fix it.”
Creative writing in poetry and all genres continues as you hone your performing skills for audiences. This long offered and successful writing series at Blue Door Art Center, partially funded by Poets & Writers continues and welcomes new participants. Come for one workshop, stay for them all.
Conceived by Yonkers First Poet Laureate and Adjunct Associate Professor Speech,Communication & Theatre Arts (C.U.N.Y) Golda Solomon is joined by co-hosts, Katori Walker, poet/muralist and Andrea Wolper, poet/vocalist. This series continues to grow, effect change and offer a welcoming space for creative writing. Ekphrastically using art, music, all our senses, exploring new and established poetry forms to stimulate and prompt free writing, incorporating the writings of new and revered poets , shared ethics, values and love of community. Writers/ artists will have opportunities to have their work be part of periodic published on-line journals on the BDAC website.
ArtSpeak/FPTP participants are always welcome to stretch out at Po’Jazz ( Defining Duos With a Chaser of Poetry) and BDAC Open Mics.
