Needed a place to stay, literally just to crash since I went back to school & was working full time. This painting is symbolic of all a couch can come to serve and how the lack of one's own space can impact your psyche. From a distance the muted tones and composition are normalized but if you lean in you can see the layers of paint scratched off with a scouring pad and get a sense of the underlying anger or desperation built in.
