Blessings before battle, inspired by my childhood (in my native India) depicts a scene of an Indian Rajput Queen praying for the safety of her husband, a Rajput King and his kingdom before he takes leave for battle. A Rajput is a royal of the Indian state of Rajasthan - most traditional of Indian states even today. A common scene in history books and palace decor all over India, this painting is inspired by Mughal miniatures. This is a specific style of painting developed in the 16th to 18th century in India (and South Asia) during the reign of the Mughals or Persians. These were vibrant, highly detailed & miniature in size that depicted the court life of royals.
