Madge is an awards winning artist, whose work will perhaps delight and amaze you. She is purely a self-taught artist. Her first effort at painting began when her son went missing in the 1990s. Her work includes thousands of drawings and paintings of all mediums. She is very passionate about nature, especially the skies above. Her work includes the history of the pocomanians of Jamaica, the maroons and many other faces which she encounters in her everyday life.
Her work is sold worldwide. Madge has shown her work in galleries in the U.S and also the State Department's Embassy Program in the Congo. A widow of 15 years, she has one son in Jamaica, a daughter in the U.S and a deceased son.
Madge is a proud member of the Upstream Gallery in Hastings on Hudson and the Blue Door Gallery in Yonkers. She's also a recipient of Westchester County Board of Legislators Proclamation, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award for her work, to name a few.
