About

BLUE DOOR ART CENTER

The Blue Door Art Center is a non-for-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to bringing the arts to local communities throughout Westchester that are currently underserved by art programs and exhibition venues.  We do this through exhibitions in our gallery, educational programs and workshops, public art projects, poetry readings and performances, and special events.

BLUE DOOR GALLERY

Blue Door Art Center presents widely attended and critically-acclaimed fine art exhibitions in a welcoming environment. Since 2002 we have exhibited over 300 exhibitions in venues throughout the county featuring over 800 artists from our local and regional community and showcasing nationally noted artists. Twice a year we celebrate our artist members with an exclusive members-only exhibition.

BLUE DOOR ART CENTER ARTIST MEMBERSHIP

BDAC members’ work is promoted on our website by providing a page for each artist with links to their website, images of their work, their resumes and artist statement. Members also are given special exhibition opportunities, discounts in our on-line store and members-only events.

BLUE DOOR PUBLIC ART PROJECTS

Blue Door Art Center has initiated a number of public art projects including installation of sculpture throughout the city, decorating of outdoor planters and receptacles and the creation of a series of ‘art banners.’

BLUE DOOR SPECIAL EVENTS

BDAC publishes books on many of its outstanding exhibitions and makes available the chap books of our poets.   We conduct community art programs at the gallery including monthly “Open Mic” and jazz performances, writing and children’s workshops
