New Sculpture by Shelley Parriott

A new sculpture by artist Shelley Parriott was installed in front of the Science Barge on July 10, 2015.

New Gallery Hours

Our Gallery hours have changed! We are now open Thursdays and Fridays from 3 to 8pm, Saturdays from 12 to 5pm and Sundays as scheduled for special programs.

New Sculpture at Yonkers Waterfront

Blue Door Quarterly Journal

The Blue Door Art Gallery is currently seeking submissions for its inaugural issue of the Blue Door Quarterly Journal—a new literary and art publication. The Journal, which will be available in print and online, will feature work from new and established artists working across various mediums:

  • Fiction
  • Nonfiction
  • Poetry
  • Photography
  • Fine Art (including but not limited to painting, drawing, etc.)

Each issue of the publication will have a different theme. For our inaugural issue, the theme is:

Blue Door Art Center is delighted to announce the launch of this new community project, the Blue Door Quarterly Journal with the generous support of ArtsWestchester.

Rachel McCain, Editor-in-Chief, invites community writers (of poetry, prose essays) artists, photographers, and illustrators to submit their work.

Art in Storefronts and Outdoor Murals - Request for Proposals

This is a call to all regional artists to contribute to the continued beautification efforts in historic Downtown Yonkers by submitting proposals to display artwork in Yonkers Storefronts and create murals on selected walls. The Blue Door, Yonkers City government and private businesses are collaborating to make funding for artists and spaces available. The presence of art will help develop a strong foundation for a growing downtown community.

Chrysalis Consort Performance

the Chrysalis Consort will be giving a free recital at Blue Door Gallery on Sunday, May 11th at 3pm. Refreshments will be served.

Yonkers Art Weekend May 3 and 4

Yonkers Arts Weekend is a celebration of the thriving and diverse arts community in the City of Yonkers. On Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th, more than 150 local, regional and international artists, artisans, painters, photographers, sculptors, craftsmen, musicians, new media specialists, and others will converge on Yonkers to showcase their work.
