The exhibition will take place at both the Blue Door Art Center and Philipse Manor Hall from September 9 to October 21, 2017.

Assyrians are an indigenous people living in the Middle East whose history dates back to 6767 BC. Since the early 20th century, Yonkers has been home to a cohesive Assyrian community. This exhibition will tell their story.

As part of the exhibition, we would like to include original artwork which reflects upon the art and culture of the ancient Assyrian Empire. Artists may also address the current diaspora of the Assyrian populations in present day Turkey, Iraq and Syria and the destruction of Nineveh and other historic sites.

We plan to include lectures and a documentary film screening during the exhibition.

All media welcome. The maximum size of accepted work is 18"x 24".

THERE IS NO FEE TO SUBMIT.
ARTISTS WHOSE WORK IS ACCEPTED WILL BE ASKED TO PAY AN INSTALLATION FEE OF $25.00
